A couple of my pullets started laying small eggs. How often will they lay eggs? And how long should it take for them to get "normal" size?

Depends on the breed as far as how many eggs they'll lay. Not every breed lays an egg every day. I have LF brahmas and get roughly five eggs a week from each of my hens. Newly laying hens are also erratic in their laying until they get it all sorted out.
It takes several weeks for the eggs to reach a more normal size.

Also let dad know that egg laying is seasonal, to a great degree. Much depends on when they hatched.

Once they start they will probably com close to an egg a day for some time. Since they are May-hatched chicks, they wont start laying until around Thanksgiving. They should lay through winter and into the spring, when they will taper off as summer approaches. That'd be my guess.

Unless they molt early, because of the season. Just wait and see.
