How many eggs are you hatching now?

So what kind of bators are you all using? The majority of mine are under hens, but I have 1- 1583 and 1- 1588 that have the bator eggs. I need to add one more broody, and take one off.

My OEG hen that had a nest in the horse pasture somewhere has come home with her 'brood'....3 lousy chicks! Slacker!

The addition is one of my coturnix quail, who ever said that coturnix don't go broody?

I'm not sure how many eggs she has yet, I don't want to scare her off. I'm going to close her in the side of the pen that she is nesting in, in the hopes that she will stay on the nest and hatch

I usually get 12-18 eggs from that pen each day though, and there are only 7 or 8 eggs in there from what I can see. She is pretty flat, so she has a nest-full, no doubt

Just because it is very rare for coturnix to go broody, I'm showing my pic of her to brag a bit

Hope you don't mind

I'm using a brand new Brinsea Octagon 20 Advance right now, will be alternating with that and an older Brinsea Octagon 20. I'm sold on those, they've given me such great hatch rates in the past

Me too. I have 10 d'Uccles, 2 Polish, 5 turkey, and an assortment of Silkie/ showgirl in mine.

And I have 7 broody hens, 6 of them are d'Uccles. No telling how many fertile eggs among all of them. I will be over-run with chicks soon. I can't wait

A.T. Hagan :

I've got seven Old English Game Bantams and fourteen blue/black Orpingtons in their second week right now. Those are for other folks, I'm just hatching for them.

Tonight I set more White Midget turkey eggs. Not sure how many as I may receive the payment for a hatching egg order today which will impact how many I set. At least twenty, maybe forty or more.

Next Friday I'll set some mixed breed chicken eggs to hatch with the turkeys. Those will likely be mostly Cuckoo Maran/Rhode Island Red crosses with a spinkling of others.

Set thirty seven turkey eggs tonight. Development won't be great in some of them as they range from a week to three weeks old. The freshest eggs are going into an order that I received today. On the other hand they were turned regularly and kept in the fridge so we'll just have to see what happens.
