So what kind of bators are you all using? The majority of mine are under hens, but I have 1- 1583 and 1- 1588 that have the bator eggs. I need to add one more broody, and take one off.
My OEG hen that had a nest in the horse pasture somewhere has come home with her 'brood'....3 lousy chicks! Slacker!
The addition is one of my coturnix quail, who ever said that coturnix don't go broody?
I'm not sure how many eggs she has yet, I don't want to scare her off. I'm going to close her in the side of the pen that she is nesting in, in the hopes that she will stay on the nest and hatch
I usually get 12-18 eggs from that pen each day though, and there are only 7 or 8 eggs in there from what I can see. She is pretty flat, so she has a nest-full, no doubt
Just because it is very rare for coturnix to go broody, I'm showing my pic of her to brag a bit
