How many eggs can a silkie fit?

I was wondering if a silkie bantam could fit 7 eggs under her or if it would be safer to have just 6 under her?

If they're her eggs, probably 10 or 12. If They are Muscovy duck egg, then not so many.

Mine can adequately deal with 8 standard size eggs. I've never tried to put banty eggs under her.

I have an Old English Game hen (even smaller than a silkie) that is sitting on 10 eggs...and all are developed!

Okay great so I think it will be safe to put 7 eggs under her. I am mailing the eggs to my Grandma to put under her silkie as a birthday present.

I had one that was setting on 17 of her's and her sisters' eggs. Another had 10, but one of her sisters has decided to help, the first hen now has 6, and the new one has taken 4. Not sure if they have the 'right' ones, but who cares? The one with 17 now has 2 buddies sitting with her. Among them they have 7 chicks, and a whole nestful of eggs. One hen will get off occassionally to feed the 'kids', then the kids and the 'mama' will all get back on the nest....Funniest thing I ever saw!
