How many eggs can one duck lay?!

I've got 2 ducks about 7 months old - a magpie and a runner mix. Both have been steadily laying eggs all winter - they take a day or two off here and there, but most mornings I find at least 1 egg. About a month ago I started finding 3 eggs every few days, and now, I just found FOUR! They all came out of 2 ducks sometime during the night. They have also started making a bit of a nest in their straw bedding, they never did that before. Today all 4 eggs are together in the nest - I can't imagine they all came out of one duck?! The runner mix has been sick lately, and she hasn't even been laying an egg.

Question is...how many eggs is one duck supposed to lay? Is it weird to get more than one a day? Is it something I'm feeding them?! Crazy birds!!

The general rule of thumb is one duck, one egg per day.

When they first start laying things can get a little out of whack.

But something else that happens is that some ducks have an uncanny ability to hide eggs in the bedding and then bring them out later.

LOL...that's what I thought when I first started finding 3. Last night I cleaned out their house though and put all new straw in. It's weird that they are all in one place too, normally they are all over the place.

My duck just laid for the first time today and she had 3 eggs. There aren't many hiding places so I'm pretty sure they were all laid on the same day.
