5/4 (not counting the 1 or 2 that broke in the nest) it rained yesterday and no one checked them! lol


the 4 hens all share the one nest and if one is in the nest when another wants to lay she sits on the perches and.. well... swears at the hen on the nest till she gets off.. when they are broody.. 2 get on the one nest and you can actually stick your hand under and grab the eggs.. if your not scared of getting pecked =]

Today was our best day so far. We have 12 girls and I think all our sex links (8) are laying. 2 Buff Orpington's and 2 Buff Brahma's. The last 4 are 22 weeks old. I didn't expect them to lay for a few weeks. Around week 24. We got 9 eggs today! So one of the 22 week girls is laying!! I'm so excited.

I told my husband that going out to see if there are eggs is like Christmas. You never know what you will get. I was so excited I danced around and kept saying 9 eggs!haha.

10 from 11 today .. 6 white 4 brown sold 4 hens today and then bought 4 new hens so it will be back up to 15 hens tommorow. got 2 buff orp /amerucauna cross 14 months old. 1 black copper maran and 1 brown wheaton amerucuana all 14 months old cant wait to see the dark and pink eggs.

9 out of 10. I actually have 11 hens, though. One is a little Bantam, she laid for about a week & half, went broody, snapped out of it quickly, laid a couple more eggs and nothing since. I don't mind. She is healthy, gets out to free range and seems happy. When ever I go out to the coop and if she's not in the run I know she is in one of the boxes sitting on someone Else's egg. Tonight I went in there and she was sitting on 5!! She looked so cute....all spread out trying to cover every one!

2 out of 4, but the easter egger is all broody and wont get off the nest that another one was wanting to lay her egg in.. the EE was sitting on the 2 eggs, neither of them were hers..
