But give my poor pullet a break. She only started laying 5 days ago and we do have 3 eggs. Granddaughter's little EE is checking out the nest boxes so I think she will be next.
We got six eggs today.. of course only five of them had shells.
We only have five hens. Not sure who laid the shell-less egg on our back deck.. the dogs loved it.. (we have old, non agressive english bulldogs.. they might follow the hens but they act more like protectors.. chasing racoons and cats.. but not chickens.. strange.. seeing as raw chicken is their favorite treat...
I remember someone... I think it was my husband... saying that five or six hens would be WAY too many eggs for our family of five to eat. Yeah right.....
