1 egg out of 22 chickens. Only one hen is laying. The others are still too young. Soon I hope!

But give my poor pullet a break. She only started laying 5 days ago and we do have 3 eggs. Granddaughter's little EE is checking out the nest boxes so I think she will be next.

We got six eggs today.. of course only five of them had shells.

We only have five hens. Not sure who laid the shell-less egg on our back deck.. the dogs loved it.. (we have old, non agressive english bulldogs.. they might follow the hens but they act more like protectors.. chasing racoons and cats.. but not chickens.. strange.. seeing as raw chicken is their favorite treat...


I remember someone... I think it was my husband... saying that five or six hens would be WAY too many eggs for our family of five to eat. Yeah right.....

I finally have eggs again!!! 4 eggs from 4 hens!! The first eggs they lay are so small

I got 3 eggs today!!!! 1 from my RSL, as usual (for the last 2 weeks), and today 2 small light brown eggs! Wish I knew who was laying them.

All are 19 1/2 weeks old.
