I'm hoping to avoid that walk myself. My three older girls are hanging in there pretty good...averaging 5 eggs per week each. I've got two more that should start soon, but might wait until after the first of the year, given the weather and light conditions.

6/13...starting to pick up!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! i am a substitute teacher, all the other teachers are getting wind that we have fresh eggs....OMG~here we go................

I did the "Walk of Shame" last week. I needed lots of eggs to bake for my Church's Holiday Bazaar and am only getting 3 or 4 a day out of 30 hens!! Seven of them are pullets that should start laying any day and 4 of them are in "semi-retirement" being 4 to 5 years old ~ but that still leaves 19 that should be laying at least every other day!

I can't wait until they are finished molting!! Most of them have all of their feathers back in.

7/11 today, a little on the light side but I've gotten 27 eggs in the last 4 days so its all good!

I'm going to bring some eggs to my nephew tomorrow, his 6 year old son is just in love with my girls,seems all the kids are!

6 from 6 for several days now. Feeling good peeps! VERY different conditions from most of you guys though. We're just a month out from it officially being summer here so I should be doing well I suppose. Am still hooked on Channel Chicken for Chicken TV viewing. Very entertaining and no ads!
