Chicken math!

You must know some people who want fresh eggs from non egg factory chickens. I have 7 or 8 potential customers at the moment and have only seen 2 tiny eggs, presumed to be from a Faverolle, starting Saturday morning (laid Friday). I couldn't fill the requests even if all 12 laid every day of the year and that would not include the eggs WE want to eat.

Mention the extra eggs to friends, family co-workers and see whose ears perks up.

soooooo cool!!! almost as fun as the first eggs!! I feel so amazed even now that these hens are laying as well as they are, I was so nervous when they were little and during their rocky start, now things have settled, and they are just all happy and laying up a storm!!

Isn't it the coolest? I got my first egg sometime in mid August, and I'm just as thrilled by them today as I was then. I feel like a kid everytime I open the lid to the nest boxes.

3/9 laying hens. I am with SandraB it is sooo addictive to have chickens! But I would feel bad if I couldn't give eggs to everyone who asked and especially when they moult. Right now I get enough eggs for my family and that's perfect!

I got three for three today and yesterday. I have three light brahmas who all started laying within the last two weeks - so proud of them!!!

Well, I may have to think about doing the walk-of-shame down the egg aisle at Walmart soon cuz I only got two (2) eggs yesterday and I have 12 laying hens.
Three of them are molting, and the rest are just taking their winter break.

I got seven........seven out of 11 pullets and three hens. My pullets are finially starting to lay!!!
