How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Yesterday was a record breaker! 27/30! And one of those 30 is broody, and the other isn't laying yet! So only one didn't lay! WOW!

BUT, now I have a problem, I'm not selling enough eggs! What's a gal to do? Start feeding the eggs back to the chickens?

After getting all excited the other day on my 4/5 eggs, yesterday I only got 2 and one was soft shell. Today I only have 1

but it looks like my runner hasn't laid yet and she is just waiting for me to leave the yard so she can hide hers. BRAT!

We have over 75 hens and are getting only 18 or more a day. We cannot keep up with customers demands. As soon as I put a dz in the box they are bought. I can't remember when the last time we had a full dz in the house for the family.

Wow, I was beginning to think there was something wrong with my girls. But, after reading some of the other posts. I don't feel so bad. I have 18 hens 7 of which are pullets and am averaging from 6 to 8 eggs a day.

I'm getting 3 instead of the usual 5 per day; I think first it was the mites - pretty bad, thought it was the mud, now treated twice - and then two weeks of dark and rainy weather. They're getting more protein treats and I just got generic polyvisol (baby vitamins) to give. I see sunshine today!

People in California just put a sign at the road and get more customers than they want. Not sure what you can get in your area - but here prices range from $2.00 to $3.00 per dozen.
