How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

2/2....now that the molting is over and the days are like early Spring around here lately, the girls are back on track. Their eggs are bigger now too! I guess it's because they've gotten older now too and starting their second year of life.

Whoa. Same chicken or did you get new ones and they just started laying? 5 months seems a LONG time to be "out of production".

Me too. Except that, as usual, I have a lot of vacation time I have to use up so I'm not going to work much for the rest of the year! Don't want to sell "old" eggs. So I am happy they are producing but I don't think I can eat that many

I know the mail carrier can't take monetary gifts, I wonder if she has chickens and if not if she would like some eggs

1 when I let them out at 7 AM. Will update later.

Update. I guess I jinxed myself saying today would be better because we only got five yesterday. Well, today they only delivered 3. So MAYBE tomorrow will be better?

Bruce

My 1 yr. 7 mo old Sussex has laid maybe 3 eggs since April. Before that she laid everyday maybe missed 3 days. She and her sister were bought in May last year her evil twin still lays pretty much daily she misses a day here and there but she is a good layer.

I collected 5 eggs at 7:00 this morning have 6 hens. This is the norm for us my young ones started laying The last week of July and have not missed a beat. By the way what is Boss?
