It sounds about the same as what we've had here with our 24 BSL's. Right after Thanksgiving I installed the new solar-powered light bar inside the coop. It was getting dark about 5:30 here in central NC when I turned the light on after the last of the Gals came back in from running around the yard. Then about 8:30 or so I'd go down and turn it off. On Dec. 1st we went from four eggs a day to a dozen and now we're up to sixteen. It could be coincidence, who knows? But after the holidays I'll be able to start taking eggs back in to work for my co-workers. I ask $3 a dozen and they're gone before I can take my jacket off and boot up my computer. How old are your hens? What breeds and finally, how much day length are they getting? I started my artificial lighting in November and added about 30 minutes per week until I was up to about 14 hrs. Went from 1-2 eggs per day from 15 (including 7 pullets that were about 6 mos old) to 12 eggs on my best day so far.
