Those BSL are really pretty birds. The person locally that I got my BOs from now have RSL pullets for sale. I still have to wait at least another month to get some new girls anyway.
Today's count was 8. I'm hoping this means they are all going to start back up soon

10/14 today..a really good day for us. I have been able to sell so many hatching/eating eggs in the last few weeks. I can't wait till they are at full capacity!!!

I am looking into getting a bator so I can start hatching my own eggs!! YIPEEE

23 of 25!!! Wow! That's 92% production if my math is right. Very good! I didn't realize the RIR's were that prolific of layers. I knew they were good but those are great.

Where are you located?

I am in Wyoming. There have been other good days, but our typical laying rate averages about 75%. They have not slowed down during our cold spells, but I do keep the coop heated, if you can call 34 degrees being "heated."

We have 6 hens only 5 lay. This is what I collected this morning. Feeling for the hen that laid the big one. The one all the way to the right is laid by hen that stopped laying two weeks ago. She thinks she is a roo.

Hennotrooster- I have one hen that has the same problem, she has never laid an egg yet. She will be a year old at the end of Feb. I even started thinking she was a roo.
6/11 today.

My 2 older girls will be 2 years old May 6. The one that was attached to the roo has taken his position she even does the roo dance, drops that wing and stamps her feet. Her sister stopped laying in April 2012. She has dropped a small hand full of eggs since but nothing to write home about. The younger 4 will be a year old in a few days and they lay daily missed maybe 3 days but made it up with double yolks.

Maybe your girls is just barren. I would assume that could happen to a hen, like it does to some us. Good luck with your girl if she were a roo she would have crowed by now.

5 out of 10 hens!!! This is a first for that amount. I am sooo excited!!! I have just determined that my silkies are hens also, which means that I am 8 for 8 out of straight run chickens, what luck!! :)
