How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Sherri, your birds are just starting, be patient, they'll all come into their own, and you'll have eggs all winter - it'll be next autumn when you see the slowdown

As for the free ranging part, I'd keep them in the coop in the morning, until around 11 am, so you don't have to do an Easter Egg hunt every day to find the eggs! Many will lay in the morning, although as they cycle through days they can lay in the afternoon, but they'll cycle back to the AM soon enough!

Yesterday I had 7 with my first white egg in the bunch. 6 before 8:30 am and 1 in the afternoon.

I had my first egg from my bantie Molly on Sept. 20th and slowly the number is increasing daily.

I have 16 total pullets, 4 born May 6th & 12 born May 20th. Not exactly sure who is laying though.... I do know my bantam is laying a small whitish egg almost daily as she was the first one to lay.

I'm trying to convince hubby to put one of the surveilence cameras facing the nesting boxes so I can catch them in the act...LOL.

Today so far I only had 3 by 8:30 am so am heading back out to see if there are any more goodies for me from my girls.

EDIT: By 4pm I had a total of 6 eggs on 10/12.
EDITEDIT: I thought we had 17 pullets but apparently you all convinced me that my Cochin pullet was really a Cochin Roo!!!

So my total then is 16 pullets with an average of 6 eggs per day.

I collect 7 eggs from pullets I saw lay. But I also found 2 nests today so it is a total of 22. I have 22 pullets but I know they are not all laying. Mine free range so they will have to learn to use nest. I put it all in their blog if you wish to read the whole story on them.
