Today wasn't so good - or I haven't found the hiding spot in the yard when they're free ranging! My son came home and found a brown egg in coop 1. Looks like Australorp. Nothing in coop 2 or 3. He opened the runs for free range time and when I got home, I opened coop 2 and found an off-white almost kind of pink egg. He said there wasn't one in there earlier so I'm wondering if one of the coop 3 chickens snuck into coop 2 and laid an egg in that box because theirs, since they just started laying have been white to almost off white but not as off white as this egg. LOL Or maybe a coop 2 chicken actually laid the egg but I'm thinking unlikely. Coop 2 has an Ameraucana and a red sex link. Ameraucana is supposed to be blue and red sex link brown egg. If it was the supposed Ameraucana that laid it, then she's an EE. Hoping to open it up tomorrow and find a blue egg! Ugh. Almost considering putting some cams in to see "whodunnit." At night my Looney Toon coop 3 girls (buff minorcas) sneak in coop 2 and the Ameraucana and red sex link hide them! It almost sounds like my minorcas are in there laughing when I come out at night to close up their runs and coop doors. Crazy girls! They'll never get away with it! My Schnauzer tells on them - well that and they're rather obvious with the "giggles" coming from the coop. hahahaha
