6/45. Not really too good odds. Of these hens have not started laying yet. They are Black Jersey Giants that will be 8 months old on the 2nd of Jan. Giants, I been Told, don't usually start laying unti; they are about 9 to 10 months old.

What do the eggs look like?

What do the eggs look like?
The eggs I get are Easter Egger: Green and blue, Naked Necks: Light to medium brown Blue Copper Marans: Reddish/Chocolate Light Brahmas: Light Brown
Black Jersey Giants: nothing yet.

Mine have really picked up since the solstice. I was getting 4 or 5 a day, now up to 10 or 11 from 13 laying hens. I'm happy with that.
My birds are all young, oldest about 18 months.
My sister has a flock that are all 4 years and up and she has been buying eggs from me for a couple of months now!

6/13 I'm not going to count my old hens that probably won't lay anymore.

We're getting 18 from 20 birds, not bad for the first year. Once and a while there will only be 16 or 17 eggs depending on what I'm not sure, but when that happens I tell them I might have chick'n soup for supper tomorrow night, it seems to help
