Thanks for the advice gander...the mashed hardboiled eggs were a big hit with the newcommers! They are sleeping like a giant now...much needed sleep!

6 today, but 2 appear to have been laid from the roost. 1 of them was a paper-shell and had smashed on the floor (It was under the high perch). The 2nd one was under the low perch, this egg had a softer than normal shell, but it wasn't apparent at first. What was apparent was the small hole in the shell, so I decided to feed this egg to the chickens. When I went to crack the egg into the scraps feed bowl, my finger went through the shell. Oh well, the chickens always enjoy it when they get eggs.
