But...in a nutshell - it's the result of an infection in your hen's oviduct.
Opinions vary on how bad a sign it is - I'd suggest a bit of your own research. It's not something I've experienced first hand (yet).

I just thought the girls weren't laying many eggs in that coop because it isn't lighted and the days are so short. Now I have to try to figure out who it is. I know it has to be one of my EE, but I don't know which one. I also don't know what the risk is to the rest of the flock.
