How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to hens' schedules. I've checked the nest box after all my hens have gone to roost and still found an egg before any of them leave the roost the next morning. I guess sometimes they lay at night???

Yeah, they really don't like snow. On the really cold days, I didn't find one brave enough to go outdoors. They hate walking in snow. Today it got up to 37 degrees and I pushed them all out the door & closed it, so I could clean up the coop and give them new straw & wood chips. Added new scratch to the bedding on floor, to keep them busy. As soon as I finished sprucing up the coop, opened the pop door, the whole flock rushed back in. :)

Good news. I saw my last bantam roosting with her bestie Angel last night hanging out in the windowsill (their fav spot) Hopfeully, we won't lose her now too.

Yeah hope she does well, sorry for your loss.

Hi stranger, good to see you

Yeah, they hate to walk in snow.

I find if I put straw down the gang will venture out we have 25 and a couple feet of straw in enclosed run. Their feed and water is in the enclosed run as they need their space and can't be in the coop all the time. It does help that we have cold hardy breeds

Yesterday's total - 17/23 - 3 from the EE's.

5/11 today. One was 80g so I thought it was a double yolker, but no. It was just a huge egg! lol I guess my chicken-double yolker is never gonna happen. I've only ever seen a guinea double yolker. =D
