How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

If you switched the roo for another roo would he notice???  I wonder if that is where the saying "Switch-a-roo" comes from?????:lau

Lol... Hummmm interesting idea lol... My roo is going to be a year old on the 20th of this month so I'm not sure I could find a replacement yearling without his notice.

Same with our little Lulu, sweetest most friendliest little girl ever!  AAwww, look at your Sass, sweet pretty baby!  RIP, in chicken heaven!

Question... If i do get a few will I need to put them in a different pin/coop or will they get picked on by the australorps? I hate to get any that get picked on... I hate bullies... Grrrrrrrr....

Deception has a way of biting us in the arse, honesty is the best policy!

But I could not help writing what I wrote because really, where did that saying come from??? I am going to google it! It would be hilarious if it actually refers to roosters!

:lau. Ok ok. I understand... I wouldn't hide it anyway lol

And you probably couldn't, your husband is to smart not to notice! LOL

I got my Bantam at the same time as the others (day old chicks not quite a year ago) and she has held her own in the pecking order. It wasn't until I separated her to break her broody that she lost her status. When I returned her to the flock a week later, they had no idea who she was and she lost all status. She is at the bottom and was getting beat up at first, but now she is fine, they don't beat her up, but she is at the bottom.

However: She can slip through the cross fence due to her size, and goes in with the ducks and they like her. I had to separate the chickens and ducks because the ducks beat up the chickens. So, it is weird that Lulu doesn't get beat up and she is one of them.....actually, she plays both sides of the fence, does whatever she wants, goes wherever she wants, lays her egg wherever she wants, but goes in to the hen house at night and roosts with the chickens. She is smart and full of personality. She also enjoys hanging out in the house and getting goodies!

I don't know anything more about introducing banties, but I think once they are at 3-4 months old it would be normal integration, just like any other pullet

3/3/6, on the hopeful side, one of my EE was in and out of the nesting box a couple of times this morning, so hopefully she is going to start laying again soon!

The lava orpington started squatting this past week, started playing with the nest box yesterday. And pooped an egg smack in the middle of the doorway of the indoor and outdoor run. When you gotta go, you gotta go. Lol!

now we have green, palest of brown and blue eggs
