How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

How much do you get for your eggs? I feel guilty to charge to much, but holy moly... the price for crappy eggs at the store are outrageous! Do your customers recycle their cartons? Do you buy new cartons?
I sell mine for$3 a dozen. That helps a little with feed and I feel like I'm not outrageously priced.

2/4 The wifey is off visiting the eldest daughter in Florida. The girls & I have been keeping company for a couple hours each evening, me carving spoons, them doing what they do. Fun stuff! Don't take much to amuse us! ;o)

my husband and I come home from work,if the sun is still out, and watch chickenvision. Can't wait for the warm weather to stay and then it's gardening and chickenvision every evening. :)

what do you get for your eggs?? I was thinking about starting to sell them. I have the 5 GC right now but I have 10 chicks that are 6 weeks old.. I'll have more eggs than I know what to do with after they start laying.
$2 I live in farm country lots of supply

$2 yes my customers bring me their cartons and their family members also save me more, but I also have had to buy some to keep up with supply in the beginning. At one time we had tons of snow, no one was buying and I had over 12 dzn just sitting there on the counter. EEK. So glad winter is finally over.

12/16/17

4 brown (good ol' Red Stars)
1 Cream (Torpedo egg from "The SS Limpy", Speckled Sussex)
2 White (from the "never let me down" White Leghorns
5 Blue (from 2 Cream Legbars, 3 Easter Eggers)

Tomorrow is lock down for Cream Legbar eggs, which are notoriously hard to hatch. I'm so negative about it that I am having trouble being motivated enough to set up my brooder. I guess if I do, and nothing hatches, I can go to the feed store and buy a few Red Stars and White Leghorns (my favorite), so I won't have a sad depressing empty nest. Woe is me.....

Ok guys... How long can I keep my fresh eggs in the refrigerator? I've got close to 10 dozen because my husband forgot to take his order to work last week...

I am dumbfounded that I'm getting right at a dozen every 2 days worth... Got 6/7 yesterday... Thankfully the weather has finally decided to start turning... Yeah... :celebrate spring is almost here....

. My solution? I sold half my flock and boiled the eggs to feed back to the chickens.

Of course, I know you have a customer base, I lost mine because my husband retired and doesn't take them to work anymore.

They say eggs are good for 4-6 weeks refrigerated, so you should be able to use them. I didn't use mine because I did not mark the dates on them like usual and did not know the ages of each dozen.

I'm still getting to many eggs, but my heart can't take selling anymore of my girls......
