I got 10 eggs today...20 hens. I took this pic of my carton of "Jumbo" eggs. The one at the back is 3 1/2" high! My hens are Red Sex-links and Buff Orps.
We got a blizzard this week, so having trouble with frozen eggs.

We got our first TWO eggs today at 3pm!! Seemed late in the day for such an activity, but who am I to say? I think our Easter Egger, Ethel, was responsible for the first one as she was the only hen around the roost when I found it, still warm but dry. She needs to learn egg laying protocol though as she laid it under the roost on top of the droppings pit. Ick. That's where I found the second egg as well, but the shells were both rubbery, so the second one had broken open tragically. The girls are all 20 weeks old and today was the coldest day of the year yet!

I'd post a picture if I could figure out how!

11/23 they've picked up one egg a day for they last three days. Maybe their on a roll, huh? Don't know whether it's up or down yet, just sorta rollercoasterin' for now.
