How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I picked up 7, but I have no idea how many were laid. I have two hens who have decided that since its so cold, they might as well hatch out some chicks. (1 RIR, 1 leghorn cross.) I probably had 12-14 laid today, I'd rather have more chicks anyway.

I have just gone through several weeks of 0-1 eggs from 5 hens. They were molting and it has been getting dark here at 4:30 (is it Spring yet?). This past week I have seen a steady increase in egg production and today was happy to find 6 eggs from my 5 girls. They are back!!

No idea... it was too nasty outside for me to go out to the coop and collect eggs.

Sent son to feed and forgot to tell him to get the eggs. Oh well, it's cold enough out there that they'll keep until tomorrow.

Is it that cold in North Carolina. We've had temps in single digits and nasty cold rain and ice over the past week. Today it should be around 40 my chickies will love the warmer weather. Even though a few seemed to want out in the wind and rain and cold. Crazy birds. I got 1 egg yesterday out of 14, seems to be like that for the past fews weeks. For those that are getting eggs everyday what is you secret?

4 eggs from 5 hens, except one hen doesn't lay so then4 eggs from 4 hens!!!

I'm getting an average of 6/8 from RIR's. seems a min of 5 and I have yet to get 8/8 I'm convinced it's the extra light I give them each eve. about 4 hrs after dusk. These girls are all less than 1 yr old. and just started laying a month ago. I'm happy

11/22 so we are doing good. High of 13 so I am happy.

19 from our 19 Gold Comet pullets!!! Way to go, Gals!!! Gotta love them Gold Comets!!! I keep thinking any day now they will slow down but they keep on going. And I'm not pushing them with lights or anything. Just feed them well and keep them dry and they're happy chickens!!!
