Mine have been laying since August and not a one has squatted for me yet!

Ummmm.... What will you do when it does?

Went back out and found 2 more so the day's total is 11/14.

I did get one huge double yoker a couple of days ago and a tiny one the same day.

7/8 I do not think my australorp is ever going to lay eggs lol she was hatched March 24th 2015! Never an egg yet from her!

10 eggs today. 5 out of 8 hens laid in the unlighted coop!

Larger breed birds take longer to grow and mature, 8 month old LF Cochins and no eggs yet. I love the large breeds but the wait drives me nuts! no rain today but no sun for days either. cold, gray and soggy.

Some of my older girls do squat for me almost 3 and 2 yrs old mostly EEs. My SS, Brahmas and Cochin do not. I hope to see a pullet squat for Stumpy soon, if they do for me that will just be a benefit for picking them up. That's alot of feathers to get ahold of.

Well from what I understand when a pullet is getting close to lay, when you place your hand over her she should squat. (That's how I took it anyway) However I have no hens that do this, but maybe I am doing it wrong, lol. They do however allow the rooster to mate them.
