No the other sides are completely open. It is a long rectangle, wire all around. With a second coop on top, part wood roof/floor, part wire roof/floor. So there was still tons of ventilation. I had tarped 3 sides & the top, but it still didn't cover all of the long sides or the opposite short side. I had tarped the end that the wind was coming from and created a 4' x 4' wind free area. Obviously, that wasn't enough. It might have been if the tarp had stayed put, but the zip-ties came undone on 1 or 2 places and that let the tarp blow off on 1 side, part of the short side & a little part of the roof. I definitely learned a lesson, but it is the poor cockerel that is paying the price.Are you sure it wasn't caused by the tarp trapping moisture inside the coop?
