How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

2 again today. The younger 2 are now 5mnths old, so hopefully we have 4/4 soon

8 eggs today. But on the sad note, I found that an owl or hawk ate one of my buff orpington pullets while I was gone today. I started with 6 pullets, 3 BO & 3 EE. Now I'm down to 1 BO & 2 EE. At least this time I know exactly what happened as I found lots of feathers and bird poop. I believe that it was a hawk. I'm surprised it attacked while the dog was outside.

Temp freezing low 80's sure hope my blood thickens up or I am going to freeze solid this winter when it gets down in the 40's

I usually get 4 to 6 eggs a day. I went grocery shopping with my son. And he bought 18 eggs I said to him and I quote. R u kidding me I have 10 hens at home and yor buying them. Lol but to his credit he never knows if I have any available. A side note. The ones he bought were the most beautiful dark brown eggs I have ever seen sold at a major grocery store.

Those hawks just won't stop. I lost my favorite little bantam rooster yesterday. Everyone is locked inside til I can get the entire pen covered.

I'm so sorry. Any way they can stay in till the threat is gone? We were talking about that this weekend.

So far, lucky no hawk attack. I hope that holds true, now that the leaves are gone from the large canopy tree in the center of their pen.

Out lights run from 4am-9am. I buy cheap eggs on clearance to specifically make us hard boiled eggs. 50cents a dozen

I sell out of fresh eggs as fast as we use them and the girls lay them!
