How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

yesterday we had some nice weather and let the hens out to range and got a whopping 2/6 eggs :~(. does anyone know if a hen will actually skip a day of laying if she's having too much fun finding worms?

Some birds never lay every day.. I have 5 original birds
Barred rocks 4 lay daily.. number 5 does when she wants to she isnt
a daily layer but does enough to not be soup

I have been bummed out for a couple of day now as I found no wild donkeys on my road Friday when I got home from the VA Hospital and Saturday I seen a lot of crows around the dry river bad so I took a look and some crack head had shoot one of the mules for fun and I only come to this conclusion from the hole in its side and no meat was taken other then by the crows

Bad part is this happened on protected wild life lands .

Man, what's wrong with people. Why would someone shoot a wild mule? That's not fun or even sporting.

I hope whoever did it either gets caught or just goes away and leaves the mules alone.

Grandson did drop and break 1 of them while collecting. but it still counts

I always count the eggs that get broken, whether I drop them or the get broken by the hens, or they just get dropped by the hen when she is laying them and they get small cracks. I also agree with @Penny1960, your Grandson is the best help around

My Grandson doesn't come over much. He's 3 and very much afraid of our dog. The barks a lot, especially around people she doesn't know, and he doesn't come over often enough to get to become "a person she knows".

16 eggs today. I think some broody eggs may have hatched. I think I hear chirping, but I'm not positive and I don't want to disturb her yet.
