Well, I FINALLY got 3/3, but it was bittersweet...
I let the chickens out of the coop this morning, Buttercup laid an egg first. A little while later, Dominique was sitting in the nest and she laid the second. Then, much to my surprise Honey (Cochin) was in the coop over in the dark corner (on the floor
) about to lay her egg. I was pretty sure today would be my first "3 fer 3" day
I was hanging around in the yard...waiting and doing yard chores, I look over and Honey is out in the run, so I run over to the coop and look in... no egg in the corner or in the nest boxes? Then, I look in the run and she had laid her egg out next to the feeder AND THE TWO DOMINIQUES HAD PECKED INTO IT

Chickens will be chickens...I hope they don't become egg eaters...always something.
