Hi Penny - wow that is cold! We had a really cold snap a couple of nights ago, said it was going to be 5c overnight but was only 3c when I took R to school and the field at the bottom of our lane was totally frosted over :eek:luckily our veggie garden is in a really sheltered spot so was OK (hubby rushed out first thing to check his chillis ).

Been busy, lots of meetings for stuff I'm involved with, started a Stitch n Bitch group with crochet lessons for those that need it every Thursday and Qi Gong has started back up Fridays. Having lots of visitors at the moment, mum over from Oz (although gone to the UK for a couple of weeks just now) and then a full house this weekend for DHs birthday :celebrate

I don't think I ever filled in on what happened with my hatching disaster adn the 2 broody hens and one chick and trying to find a day old chick etc ......................... turns out I didn't need to - she stopped being broody and they are coparenting - just adorable :love:loveHermione (the cream coloured one) is the 'real' mummy but Doris I think is actually being a more devoted parent! Just so cute all snuggled up together :love

13 eggs today. Only 8 yesterday.
I think I have a few roosters from the 10 chicks that hatched this Summer. Not positive yet, as I haven't heard anyone crowing, but most of them are often found outside the chicken yard. Not sure if the older roosters are running them off or if they just want to go hunt bugs
We have been having nice cool temperatures most evenings, but tomorrow the high is supposed to be 88 and the low is supposed to be 71. After that the lows drop down into the 60's and the highs are in the low 80's.
