How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Hi Penny! Sorry lost the thread as there were no alerts :lau ! One of my silkies has started laying again and as I said last time my Araucana so I'm now up to a possible 5/ day. Most days I'm getting 3 I'd say.

What do you mean by a lavender rooster? What breed for the blue and green eggs? Hoping to breed my own green eggs using my Araucanas as the blue stock and adding in some Cream Legbars next year.

Had my first real chicken husbandry day today, my Harco (black hybrid) Matilda had a gross poo ball on her butt so we bought her inside (away from the protective eyes of the roosters!) and pulled a few feathers and trimmed some others so she is now poop free! Also caught Doris the Slightly Dim Silkie and cut her poor long witches nails (they were already long when she then had 2 back to back broody periods!)) and gave her hair a bit of a trim over her eyes - she seemed so much happier when she was taken back out!

This is of Mom and Dad to him he is growing in to that honestly have not take much a photos out there the last year ameracauna.jpg his tail feather where lost to our pyrenees would be also .. now I have not done silky nails maybe I should huh

Ahhh Ok - are they Orpingtons? Lovely lovely colour!

Doris has a big fluff ball head and I dont' know if that reduces her moving around, I think her nails were quite long when we got them but figured she'd sort them out now she could free range etc but after 2 almost back to back broody spells they were looking really really bad really curling around! Think a horrible old witch!

Both your Araucana and Cream Legbars lay blue so crossing them shouldn't get anything but blue. Cross with a brown layer to get green.
Sorry yes I didn't write that clearly - I just meant I'm going to get some CLs as well (after my 2 miserable failures at hatching any this year!!). At least that way I'll have 2 different blue stocks to play easter eggs with! I figure with all my other layers (white Faverolles eggs to Marans brown) bred with the Araucanas and CLs I should be able to get a pretty cool range of colours!

Must have been that Australian translated to French translated to English that got you ;)
:lau:lau:lau absolutely - gets me every time!!! and the Aussies when I go home think I sound really English and the english think I sound Aussie and the French think I speak French comme une vache espagnol (like a Spanish cow)! :lau:lau:lau I can't win anymore after being an expat for 20 years!!!
