How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

16 eggs, one soft, laid off the roost as they always seem to do when it's shell less. They like this bucket.

I have three 30 gallon buckets, and I wanna get a couple more this spring from the greenhouse.
They seem to like them. No roosting on the edge or pooping in the nest. Those are jumbo eggs in the picture above, maybe 3 double yolkers. They lay 3 at a time sometimes. The dirt is just a little residual from my tomatoes I need to clean again up top.

guess my view when I was a kid we had a lean to style coop my Dad had nesting boxes maybe a 12 on one wall no bump outs but the building had to have been 20 feet by 12 or 14 feet but we had 40 or 50 birds back then others would still lay in the corners

New high for the season: 8
Both Persephone (June 2012 EE) and Betty (April 2018 Welsummer) chose to lay in the hay nest under the ladder in the "feed room". Normal for Betty since she started that a few weeks ago but Persephone has ALWAYS laid in the nest boxes in the coop (shared wall between the two so not a distance). No idea why she would decide to change now. There are plastic eggs in the coop nest boxes, none in the hay nest.

5 today incuding a very odd small one, haven't opened it yet to see if it is a fairy egg or another 2018 pullet starting to lay, there must still be quite a few not laying as I have 14 pullets / hens and only 7 as a once off max so far. The silkies havent' started up again and the araucana seems to have stopped again after stopping for 2 months over the depths of winter (after laying 8 eggs) - actually I think she only laid less than 20 before stopping again - odd little thing!
