This pic is from Friday but I got another 5 today. What makes it special is the two small tinted eggs are from my Speckled Sussex’s. So the lighter colored tinted egg is my 2nd SS’s first egg! Now I’m just waiting for my 3rd SS, a Production Blue and an EE to start laying. The SS eggs are averaging 1.30oz so I hope soon they will at least increase to medium sized eggs.

Seems like a lot of horizontal surface to scrape poop off. I have roosts at 4' high, more than enough for all the birds and they still fuss for position every night. There is also an 8 footer at 2', no bird has ever roosted on it.So they roost on the tables? Instead of traditional roost bars? Neat idea!
There could be lots things reducing egg laying. Heat can certainly be one of them. Illness, flock stress, diet can be other factors. I suggest you start a thread on it so you can give specifics and the experts can offer some insight to help you figure out what’s going on.I olny got 8 eggs out of 20 hens what is going on they get oyster shells and layer Bartlett mill layer feed and mule city with sunflower seeds and corn and lil treats like that in it they have plenty of fresh water shade I mean some hens are 5yrs old but most are 3 it was 92 degrees today do yall think its heat or age or what
