We got 18 today from our 19 Gold Comets. We've been getting 16 or 17 since Groundhog day but the Gals broke out today. I've been watching MxPres and I've been expecting the same but it's not happened yet. Hopefully we'll make it through this rotten weather and spring will pop out any day to save us.
I also feed my chickens Layena. I have felt bad for them during these winter months, so I have been trying to give them lots of veggies, oatmeal, scrambled eggs and recently a little yogurt. Our grocery store has a place where they display the older produce for a reduced price. I have found that they love egg plants.

Mine did so well during the early part of the cold months I don,t mind them taking a short break,Im sure it puts stress on them cranking out an egg everyday constantly,,and who knows, when they start back up again I will have a good excuse to raise my prices after my customers have to buy those yucky things from the market
19/35 today. Should've had twenty but found one they had cracked and eaten. Oh well, stuff happens every so often, so we'll chalk down our losses and move on for tomorrow's new clutch.
