How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Love to follow and see eggs! My flock is 6 months and 18 months. Younger pullets never started before the short days set in and older girls started a second molt. I thought they all molted early fall as production stopped and they started laying again for about a month. Sorry to bring down the post! Glad people are having luck.

Last winter I had no pullets. I got ZERO eggs from October to March. I was really looking at that crock pot by March.
Hang in there the days are very slowly getting longer.

The 4 or so I am getting are out of 28 birds.

I was getting behind, took me a while to read and catch up here. Yesterday I had 2 eggs, yes, 2! A green one and a tan one! So that would be a Faverolles egg, first ever for me in December! So that's 2 eggs for 6 chickens.

I'm getting an egg from Ginny every day now. Thursday she layd while my nice was with us. She was so eggcited that she could pick her own egg that she ran with the egg to every one. She stopped but the egg rolled off her hand. Me: Jane is your egg broken? Jane: no *sigh* yes. I laughed so hard fridag she layd again while i was busy in the run but the egg was really nasty( i dont have nestboxes yet working on it) so i ate it right away. And today again in the late afternoon

It is early here on western most state we are in. Cleaned had 3 and 3 birds in the nest
so 3 more may be 7 when all done

7 today. STILL waiting on the 2 EE pullets. In fact "waiting on" is somewhat of a double entendre - I'm still waiting on them in the evening by carrying them into the coop as well as waiting for them to lay.

A total of 5 today. Three from pullets and 2 from birds that are 4+ in age.
You keep rockin granny birds!

10 eggs today but one was a soft shell that had gotten broken in the nest box. So I tossed it out to the chickens.
