If it was that thin it likely wasn't just a general lack of calcium. How old is the bird? I've had a few that started laying very thin to no-shell eggs when they got older despite 24x7 access to oyster shell. I figure the shell gland just gets worn out.I only got 8 today and 1 was thin-shelled. I broke it when I picked it up, so I tossed it into the coop on the ground. If they didn't get down to eat it this evening, they will in the morning. I did add oyster shell to both coops this morning when I let them out. I guess that was good timing!

Today I got my very first egg!!!!!!!Super excited but it was only one egg.
