How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Eggs come out the hen damp so try cleaning you nest boxes first
I put up a sign:
No treats if you go in the nest with dirty feets!
;)

With the white stuff on the ground, the girls don't go outside the barn so they aren't getting too much mud on their feet. They do sometimes have somewhat dirty butt feathers so I occasionally have to wash a bit of dry poop off the eggs.

How many girls do you have @KDOGG331

11 but 6 of them are about 4 years old. I added 5 new pullets in April and they’re about 9-10 months old now.

So far only the new girls are laying.

Although one of the older ones is laying again I think. Been occasionally getting 2 EE eggs the last like week or so and I don’t think they can lay 2 eggs in one day?? Plus slightly different colors and the color of the other one is the same color the older one usually lays but different shape so

The older girl's egg is likely larger than the pullet's egg.

Oddly they’re about the same size. I actually think the new girls eggs are bigger. :lau

I just pulled all the eggs out of the fridge and looked at them again and I’m pretty sure I know which one laid which egg now. The color difference is more obvious after being in the fridge for a bit. Also the size difference is a little more obvious than I thought hahah definitely two different layers so I guess one of the old girls is back at it. I really wish I had a rooster. That girl is amazing lol
