How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I would have to do it everyday first thing in the morning. I'm looking to make the boxes less hospitable for sleeping/plooping.

That is why we did our nest boxes outside of the coop/perch. I still have an egg laid in the coop once in awhile, mostly when I put straw in the bottom when it is cold. But my pullets are doing well with having two nest boxes beside their coop off the ground about three feet with a ramp leading them up to the nest. No poopy eggs.

Well, my girls are stealing my husbands heart. All winter they have given us a dozen eggs a day most of the time. I have 21 pullets about to turn 1 year old. They are now up there amounts to 16 a day and one is laying a real Jumbo. We still have a few to go into moult but most are laying large to extra large with a few still laying Medium. The lowest we have had in eggs all winter has been 9 eggs in one day. Cold weather is not slowing down my girls.
