How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Today's first collection brought in 20, it was at 1 PM so there may not be anymore as the grass blades are now icy. One was 85 grams, a double, and the next largest was 65 grams. Never have weighed the laid before.... :D

EDIT: 5 more, so 25 with one double yolker. A record. With heritage breeds, an egg every other day, so 50 out of 75 are likely to be laying now. :)

REEDIT: But if they lay heavier in the spring, it could be 40 of 75. I could get 4 dozen a day it seems...

REREEDIT: 3 more to 28. Temp has dropped from 30 this morning to 17 now. Maybe they are offloading baggage for the cold snap....

4 today. I think I need curtains on my nesting boxes. They insist on laying on the floor, often under the boxes and ALL the way back against the back wall, so I have to crawl under the boxes to get them. Clearly they don’t mind laying in poop either. :barnie
I have a similar (the same without the crawling) issue. I am going to put up a piece of fencing under the nests to keep them out. I put one wood tray in the corner, they laid next to it, now in it and next to it. Learning, learning, learning. I will make my chickens smart. :D

One of my eggs was so poopy today that I thought it was the ceramic egg that stays in the nest. I hit it on a log to try to scrape the crap off & low & behold "CRACK"...... real nasty egg!!! So subtract one egg off today's total....
