I've done that. Takes most of the work out of raising chicks! Hopefully she will accept the chicks at O'Dark Thirty some night.

had to buy hatching eggs because I'm not getting enough eggs. 12 eggs in the incubator right now.

17 or 18 eggs today includes 1 soft shell egg laid on the poop boards off the roost. Also another one that was broken/eaten in the nest box.
Sold 5 dozen eggs today including 1 dozen to the salesman that came out to give us a bid on new windows! We also gave him a 4 oz jar of violet jelly. He asked if it was okay to keep my number so he can call about eggs when he is out this way!
Butchered our extra rooster and moved the 6 meat chicks to his pen. Moved the 4 chicks that hatched over the weekend out to the brooder the meat chicks had been in. Tomorrow driving out to Cackle Hatchery to pick up 15 more meat chicks.
