Yes, that is normal for her to lay a little later everyday (or so). It is because of the time needed to produce an egg. I think it is supposed to be 26 hours to produce an egg.I have 9 young pullets and am excited to say one of them finally started laying 5 days ago, 1 egg a day... she is a champ!! The other two should start in a couple more weeks, then the last 6 in about 3 to 4 weeks. They are so small, we have been saving them to compare sizes for a week, then going to make a nice quiche! LoL One question, she lays like 1 to 2 hours later each day, consecutively. Today's egg was late afternoon 3:30pm. Is this normal for a first timer that is 17 to 18 weeks old?? She comes running into the coop when she hears me open the nestbox door and squawks at me. It is so funny. In my mind I think she thinks, that if she waits until later each day, I won't come back to check and she is trying to outsmart me. Hahahahaa![]()
