Only 4 today. There’s some illness going around the flock so I’ve lost a couple of layers, plus 2 are broody. The good news is one of my younger pullets started laying the other day.

This has me scrambling to get a bachelor pad built. I’ll have to integrate it into the chicken expansion. This can double as my broody hen getaway. All planned builds, just a little quicker than expected. Those roosters must be separated from my hens during this molt.

7 eggs today, one being a huge double yoke I’m sure. I haven’t had one of those in a little bit.

11 today. So, I’m on the mailing list for Ideal Poultry. Today’s email had hatchery choice Cochin bantams on sale again. I let them go the last time but today I pulled the trigger! A quick permission phone call to my wife and in just a few minutes I bought 12 new babies that will be here in about a week. They’ll ship on Wednesday. Yay for chickens!

Hey I pickup 2 Brown Leghorns excited only white ones as a kid no one is in the banty coop so they will go up there to keep them from all my flocks no one in their coop just now

I got 5 from 8 chickens (3 ate broody, so they're batting 100%) and 2 from 4 ducks (also 100% because only 2 have started laying).

But YESTERDAY, I found 17 eggs the little biddies had been hiding from me in the duck house. I thought it was weird so few were laying lately, but I just attributed it to the heat.

I have been all over the yard they have like 1/4 acre to run but found no hidden eggs I can get 9 but have been getting 5 or 6 last couple days
