Yep, I’ve heard as early as 16 weeks. But even at 18 weeks that gets me into December. Last year my new girls didn’t start until January and they hatched July 1. We’ll see if the Gems can punch thru the short days of winter.

4! They're really just starting though, I've had 3 that have been laying since the first part of September, but there are 13 pullets out there that should all be laying very soon!

1st it was 1 then afternoon another! Then told hubby the red stars must have taken day off so he looked under coop and there was 2!!! One covered with poop. And 1 more in coop on floor! They're a year old and this was the most random timing and locations I've ever had . So I guess answer is 5 from 4 hens!?!?!

More like IN TROUBLE! Poop heads it's a buggar getting them out from there! Today was 1 early another one in nest box later, 1 MORE UNDER COOP!I I stashed those 2 in my bra to have hands free. Well ..... yes you guessed it I think it was a softer shelled one cause it broke when I stood up! Now there's a sensation you don't want to feel again. ! Then my BA girl laid her afternoon one. What a random mess.
