How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I have 12 Rhode Island Red hens, 2 Buff Rock hens and 1 Speckled Susses rooster. I normaly get 6 - 8 eggs a day. I know that the Buff Rocks lay every day becaules there eggs are much lighter in color and larger than the Rhode Island Reds eggs, but last night the rooster would not go in the coop from free range so I had to leave him out and today I got 2 eggs from the Buff Rock hens and one grape tomato size egg from one of the Rhode Island hens. Do you think they did not lay because they man was outside all night :-(

17 today from our 19 Gold Comets! I got home about 6 tonight and ran the rototiller for about an hour or so and then wandered down to the 'Chicken TV' sitting area and Tersa brought me a beer. We let the Gals out for about an hour and they had a ball chasing crickets and eating their craws full of fresh green grass. I sat there until they all went into the coop and locked them up. I actually look forward to 'Chicken TV' each evening about dusk more than watching regular TV. You know, it don't get no better than this...

Got 5 out of 8 today! The rir hen that I thought was not laying, laid a good sized brown egg with purple specks on it!

I have 9 hens and over the last 3 days I have gotten 8,8, and today 6 eggs. I tried my first marans eggs today in an omlet. These were pullet eggs. UNBELIEVABLE, I had read where they were really above average taste, but these were fantastic. No wonder these chickens are so popular, can't wait til all 5 of my marans are laying!
