Of all the different breeds in our flock... you are not wrong in your assumption. Same situation. I have one that always crowds the same RIR and they lay eggs together (kind of cute in one aspect, but sometimes ends in cracked egg shells), and another that just lays in the corner of the coop. I've seen this both in beekeeping with storms in the spring to fall seasons and now chickens. It's amazing. No weather forecaster can out do the animals.2 eggs today. They sense the storm coming.
