4 eggs yesterday! We are so fortunate, the girls slowed yet still produce even in the darkness of winter!

Getting 3 to 6 eggs daily in December, but that's fine, my hens deserve a well earned winter break. Soon enough it'll be back to several dozen daily. Love you sweet hens!

Today is the first day I haven’t gotten any eggs. I’ve had my Golden Comets since September and they lay by midday like clockwork. I’ll keep an eye out, but this is odd.

Just one today. Most of the ones that are molting looking better so hopefully they get back to laying. The younger 6 are now 5 months old but still not laying yet.

All four of my girls laid today! Yay!

My Welsummer, Mei, waited for the morning after the longest night of the year to lay her first egg. She’s almost 28 weeks old. Her egg is very rough, and has a lot of bloom compared to the other girls (third from the left in the above photo). She decided to celebrate by triumphantly singing her egg song not only for herself, but for all of the girls as they laid, and as she is the leader, she got all the other girls to join in the chorus. My morning (and my neighbors’ morning) was none too peaceful!
