0 eggs from 3 Pekin bantams but plenty of black feathers for that dream catcher I'm planning
No eggs as yet from the 2 Araucana girls. They are around 7mths of age now. hmm

Eleven today! Have been getting 5 or 6. Sorry I'm way behind. Chicks have been keeping me busy and I quit getting alerts.

10 yesterday and 11 today. The ladies have been generous lately.
On another note, I peeked at the camera in the coop the other night and saw that it was empty! Dingbat that I was, my first thought was "oh my God somebody made off with the chickens!" All 13 of them!
Then my sanity came back - via my calmer hubby - maybe they got locked out ? And they were. The automatic door plug got loose and they were sleeping on the perches in the run. Hubby changed out of his jammies, opened the door manually but they decided to stay put and camped out for the night. The run is fully enclosed with hardware cloth (+ apron!) so they were safe and thankfully it was only mid-40s that night. The plug got secured the following day but I still feel so guilty.
The camera gets checked a lot earlier nowadays.

One of the girls, Bossy, seems to have very loose poops…not discolored, but the consistency of cow patties. Not sure why.

3 today, from Juin, Août and Juillet!


A big, very pale brown egg from Juillet, very similar to the first eggs she ever laid. Usually they’re more like Août’s in color (the one in the middle).

I’ll update if Mei lays later on. She’s acting a bit antsy so I think it’s possible!

So pretty!
Dark brown eggs tend to light a bit during the lay cycle. When they take a break they tend to darken back up again. I see that in mine too.
