12 today. There was apparently some shenanigans - there was goo and shell fragments in one of the nests. Then hubby broke one. So only 10 made it in

Hahaha I tried that with my mum, worked well until she was caregiver while was working out west haha, I would watch her on the barn cameras trying to get them to bed, count them, gather eggs

I call my husband the Quail daddy because he just loves them. I caught him cheeping them lol

Some use a golf ball

The girls take those golf balls seriously! I've been pecked by a hen sitting on golf balls.

I have a couple hens that will kick the fake eggs and golf balls out of the nests. They said get that fake stuff out of my way! Let me show you what a real egg looks like!

@3KillerBs told me how she had golf balls in the nests, and black snakes that got in the coop ate them!
