26 Today from our 30 GC's and all but 2 were large to x-large brown ones too. The 2 were probably medium size eggs so it looks like the Youngsters are starting to earn their keep.

2 out of 13 hens!!! I'm excited!! But hey, they have only been laying for a week. The oldest are 19 weeks old and the next oldest are 11 week old.

13 on wednesday and 11 today.

1 earlier than normal this morning, so here's hoping that someone else out of the other 8 that aren't laying yet has kicked in and started producing.

They started laying at about 20 weeks but we'd get a couple of small eggs from them then. We knew it was the Youngsters because all the other 19 hens have been laying large to extra-large eggs for over a year. Now they're right at 26 weeks old and they seem to be laying almost every day. Some are laying large eggs and a few are still laying medium sized eggs but within the next few weeks they'll settle out and all lay large to extra-large ones. A few of our older hens are now about 18 months old and have been or are going thru molt. We're starting to see them come back up because now because we're getting 25 to 27 eggs each day. So be patient and they'll lay.

Yesterday was 2/21!!!!! First time getting 2 eggs in one day from my 21 week old girls. One brown (who's only laid 4 eggs so far in 7 days) and our first mint green egg!!!! We're so happy. Nothing yet today but it's still early!
