How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I’ve been gone housesitting all weekend. My sister said no eggs since I’ve been gone. Plus, Saturday night, Jade went missing. They tried to catch a snake and somehow got him mad enough to coil to strike, and Jade kept running in and out while they were messing with it. Then she didn’t go in the coop that night. Didn’t show up yesterday and didn’t go in the coop last night. We figured the snake got her. I got home and within five minutes I found her under the horse trailer, none the worse for wear. Seems a bit thirsty, and keeps running to the water bowl. The bigger hens are pecking at her like to re-establish pecking order maybe. I’m just glad she’s safe.

9 eggs all from Coop 1 (Isa Browns, Speckled Sussex and one Buff Orp). Below is the largest and smallest from todays collection.

Smaller then Peewie -1 oz/28.35 g
Extra Jumbo - 3 oz/85.05 g (does not fit in an egg carton.)

No gifts from Coop 2 today.

About my EES, I thought if they were an ee they would lay blue or green eggs. I then learned that you have to check the color of their ears to know what color egg they will lay.
I thought they were supposed to lay mostly green or pink or very faint bluish tint. Never expected a EE to lay bright blue like mine. I wanted green eggs. Was expecting green eggs from them. I even bought 2 of the chickens with the helmet hair forblue eggs.
EEs are like a box of chocolate.
