First day getting 6/6!

I never thought I would be this excited about eggs

Two so far, the leghorns keep laying outside the nest boxes so I have to run out there and grab the eggs before they get kicked or stepped on and broken. There are more in the boxes but I haven't collected those yet. It's going to be 110F here today. They are all new layers and I'm impressed they lay at all in this heat!

Edit: just did another ice run and collected seven eggs, so nine for today.

We survived the hurricane. Mostly rain and wind where I am. I put the chickens in a large dog kennel and brought them into the kitchen for the night. I pulled the coop into the horse trailer to keep it from blowing away. And this morning I got three eggs! Two GC eggs and a Banty egg from Jade.

1 today, from Juin again!

We’re getting two days of non-stop rain, so the girls are stuck in their run. I’m not sure who misses their foraging time more, me or them. It’s so boring and dreary when I can’t watch them run around and play.
