How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Yes! That describes it exactly. It’s the first one I’ve seen from my girls, but I’ve been seeing a lot of irregular eggs lately. Lots of thin shelled, no shell and banded eggs. I keep oyster shell available and they get a 17%layer feed so I don’t know why they’re like that right now.
I have the same issue from my older ladies usually, but Petunia is only young.

My Vet said no treats or left overs. Just layer and oyster shell. But didn’t do any good she continued to lay odd eggs. And her sister layers brittle eggs. Both are 1/2 polish an 1/2 barnyard mutts. So no production breeds…

my husband collected them this morning while I was cleaning the poop table and he let the girls nose around the basket and peek in at the eggs hehe. They were very curious.

I swear chickens are like little dogs, I love em
Lovely eggs 🥰

Hmmm..:my girls are not quite two years old. They free range every day for four or five hours and have access to layer feed and oyster shell all day. Usually treats are eggs and shells that got broken.

Hmm yes that is odd. I wonder if it might be a genetic issue? Or I have also read that there is a virus out there called Egg Drop Syndrome.

Not sure if it is prevalent in the US.
